Founded by KLM cabin crew
Wings for Animals, founded by KLM cabin crew, aims to support small to medium-sized projects worldwide working for the welfare of all kinds of animals. In addition, the foundation provides information to create awareness, thus preventing animal suffering.
As flight crew, we visit many countries where we see animal suffering up close. Because one is stronger together, we joined forces in Wings for Animals.
Donors and Sponsors
The support of donors and sponsors allows us to provide financial assistance to our projects, so that they can pay for their veterinary costs, food and other necessities on site.
Sterilisation
Since the establishment of our foundation , we have focused on sterilisation actions. This is because sterilisation has been proven to reduce the number of stray animals and thus prevent animal suffering. Our first project in 2016 was very successful, we try to participate in sterilisation campaigns every year or organise them ourselves.
Education
Like sterilisation, education tackles most problems at the root. Education creates understanding and this understanding can lead to reduced animal suffering. Through social media and education programmes with local people, we try to bring attention to animal suffering in the tourism sector, animal suffering caused by the constant increase of stray animals but also hidden animal suffering such as lonely pets, or animals kept on a chain.
