Wings for Animals

Worldwide Support for Animals in Need

Wings for Animals, founded in 2015 by KLM cabin crew, aims to prevent animal suffering worldwide as well as raise awareness of abuses against animals.

Wildlife Protection

Wildlife is seriously threatened by habitat loss and cruel tourist attractions. More than 550,000 animals worldwide suffer from irresponsible entertainment practices, while souvenirs of endangered species exacerbate the problem. Awareness is crucial to protecting wildlife and preventing animal suffering.

Supporting wildlife organisations

Wings for animals helps several wildlife organisations around the world, such as the Jane Goodall Foundation, Jakarta Animal Aid Network, Wildlife Friends Foundation, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary.
We work exclusively with recognized wildlife organizations. This collaboration provides knowledge and greater reach which ultimately also helps to reduce animal suffering.

The aid consists of financial assistance as well as relief goods and medicines taken by the KLM crew that reach their destination directly thos way. This is made possible by your wonderful donations and contributions from our sponsors.

Awareness

At least 550,000 wild animals are suffering at the hands of providers of cruel, irresponsible tourist attractions. This is according to global research on animal suffering at tourist attractions.

Buying souvenirs is good for the local economy, but unfortunately many souvenirs are still made from endangered animal and plant species.
Awareness of this among tourists and souvenir sellers is important to reduce it.
Dutch Customs also hands out fines to vacationers who come home with souvenirs made from plants and animals.

Adopted Animals

Many of the wildlife organisations listed above offer the opportunity to adopt an animal that has been taken in by them.
Wings for Animals thinks this is an excellent idea because it gives a face to the wonderful work these organisations do. We have therefore adopted a number of animals. With the donations we receive from you and our sponsors we support the care for these animals. Because it is almost always wildlife, specialized care and shelter is needed that we cannot provide ourselves, of course. Wildlife organisations do that for us.

With this method of remote adoption, with your help we can also give these wild animals a good life.
