Jakarta Animal Aid Network, also known as JAAN, was founded in February 2008 by Femke den Haas, Karin Franken and Natalie Stewart as a central place where people can contact/report animal abuse or find information about animal welfare in Indonesia.
JAAN operates solely on donations from individuals and receives no financial support from the government.
Jakarta Animal Aid Network is divided into 2 sections; Domestic and Wildlife Rescue.
Domestic welfare includes everything we do to help pets, for example dog and cat adoptions, the Dog Meat Free Indonesia campaign, our cat sterilization campaigns and emergency rescues.
Wildlife Rescue includes all the cases we handle related to primates, dolphins, tigers, orangutans and more. For example, our “Save Dennis” campaign or our regular research and data collection to try to end the illegal wildlife trade.
