Care4Cats was founded more than 26 years ago after Angela Collins encountered the enormous problem of stray cats while on vacation in Ibiza. Since then, the organization has been fully committed to the TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) method: cats are trapped, spayed or neutered, and then returned to their original environment. In addition, sick and injured cats receive medical care, and every effort is made to provide vulnerable cats and kittens with a safe home.
All volunteers work entirely without pay. Thanks to donations, they are able to provide food for hundreds of cats every month, and since the year 2000, approximately 35,000 cats have been spayed or neutered.
The problem remains significant. In Ibiza, there is hardly any government support, there are virtually no shelters for cats, and many stray cats continue to breed unchecked. This not only affects the well-being of the cats themselves, but also the island’s biodiversity.
We look forward to supporting Care4Cats Ibiza and working together to make a difference for the cats of Ibiza.
